Naggar was the capital of the Kingdom of Kullu in the earlier times. It is heaven for adventure sports like paragliding, trekking, and river rafting. The ancient temples built up in the Shikhara and Pagoda style are the famous attractions.
Famous Tourists Attractions:
Naggar Castle: It was built in 16th century by Raja Sidh Singh. Naggar castle and was used as the Royal residence and later as the state headquarters of the kingdom till the middle of the 17th century.
Temples in Naggar Village: There are other famous temples in the area namely Shankar mandir, Vishnu, Chatar Bhuj Temple, Tripura Sundri Devi, Tripura Sundari, and Lord Krishna. These temples are constructed in the Shikhara and Pagoda style rich in wood and stone carvings.
Roerich art gallery: Roerich art gallery is another famous attraction in the Naggar village. It contains the paintings of Nicholas Roerich as well as his scriptures. Roerich was the residence of the Prof. Late Nicholas Roerich came to India in the year 1929. It was later on converted into the art gallery.
Naggar Culture: You can also be a part of the famous Naggar fair held at the showground site in the month of April. Local people set up their shop on the fair site. All the locals and tourists from outside make a visit to this fair.
