Honeymoon… A thing of wasting time and money for old fashioned people, a thing of necessity for a new generation and for me a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the busy life with a person who is going to be your companion throughout your life and maybe beyond it.
As the day of my wedding (April 2013) came closer something inside me started burning. Is it good to go on a honeymoon trip against the old-fashioned approach of my parents? Will it be worth going on a trip with an unknown companion provided we were going for an arranged marriage thing? If yes, What place to go? And here came the longest stop. Could I manage a Foreign trip keeping up with the friend circle I had or the kind of honeymoon trips they have had? Or will it be a good idea to just elope from the home to any place and spend some time with my partner? Time went on and I explored all sorts of honeymoon destinations. Plenty of suggestions and workouts happened and in Feb 2013, I decided to go on a trip to Himachal Pradesh. Being a native of the neighboring state, it would cost me a lot lesser than any other place and probably that was one of the most appealing reasons as I could not afford an expensive one.
I appointed Himalayan Trips LLP as my Honeymoon Trip Planner. Paid the 10 percent holding amount and then got busy in the functions/relatives and finally Marriage. I won’t describe the services here because I am going to emphasize on the Best honeymoon destination rather than best honeymoon tour planner. On the pre-decided day, a cab came to pick us up and we were off to a journey that will probably be cherished for life. Not because it was our honeymoon trip but we both were amazed by the beauty of the place.
Starting from Shimla, be it Mall road, where after seeing all the young college days couples, we could reflect on our yesteryears or be it the view of Snow-capped mountains from Kufri (Maybe Kinnaur / Spiti Valleys) which reminded us to be grounded and gave us a message you can’t be perfect and hence need to adjust with each other in the instances of ups and downs. A Visit to Jakhu Temple didn’t fail to advise both of us to have faith and trust in each other as we did in God.
After Shimla, we were on our way to Manali and for the most part of our journey, we both were awestruck of the last 02 days in Shimla. With a Hop On and Hop off kind of drive planned through Himalayan Trips LLP by putting fillers such as Pandoh Dam, Outlet of which advised us that no problem is bigger than your strengths, Mini Vaishno Devi Temple alongside the Bias River we reached Manali in the evening but not before having an adventurous river rafting in Kullu bargained by our cab driver. As soon as entered Manali, we completely forgot Shimla. Such is the beauty of this place. After the long drive, we decided to take a break in the evening and relax a bit but with the excitement of visiting numerous places in the morning. The next morning, Ahh… After almost 6 years in 2019, I still remember that moment. As soon as we came out of the room and waited for the morning tea by room service, we witnessed something which felt out of this world. This particular moment made me realize why people are so crazy about Manali is one of the best honeymoon Destination and why travel agents around India advertise Honeymoon packages for Himachal. The Sun was outshining, and it was lighting up the Snow on the mountains. As soon as we both tried to peep into the peaks, our ears were mesmerized by the sweet voices of unknown species of birds and to cap everything off a cool breeze blew across our bodies probably because of the dense pine/deodar forests around us. This summed up all the travels / all the expenses / All the time away from work and everything else.
