Sankat Mochan Temple is one of the most admired tourist attractions of Shimla. Sankat Mochan Temple is located amid the lush green and tranquil locals of this beautiful hill station. It is located on the Kalka Shimla highway. A temple is a place with calm and peaceful surroundings where one can actually meditate and enjoy.
Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj came to this beautiful place long ago around the 1950s. He discovered the perfect spot for soulful introspection and meditation. After staying there for 10 days his desire was to make a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Faithful devotees of Baba included the governor of Himachal Pradesh. The governor along with Bhagavan Sahai took up the task of building the temple and fulfilling their Guru’s wish.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row height=”auto”][vc_column][us_image_slider ids=”9331,9332,9333″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row height=”auto”][vc_column][vc_column_text]The temple was sanctified on the 21st of June 1966. It was a small temple back then. But now the temple has grown by leaps and bounds and today sprawls on the huge area. The temple is dedicated mainly to Lord Hanuman. One and find idols of Lord Rama, Shiva and Ganesha in separate complexes too. There is a particularly made temple for Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj. The temple devoted to Lord Ganesha has been built in the South Indian style of architecture and is worth the visit. Every Sunday, Prasad, also known as Langar is distributed in the huge hall of the building.
Sankat Mochan Temple has a three-story building that is used for many purposes. One part of the building is used to conduct marriage ceremonies. It is rented to the people who want to conduct marriages. A nominal fee is charged by the temple. Many other ceremonies and other sacred rituals can be conducted here. People who work here (Priests and the maintenance staff) use the rest of the building as a residential complex. Ayurvedic clinic and thirty well-maintained toilets are also there in this temple.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][ultimate_info_banner banner_title=”Explore more Tour Packages Here” banner_desc=”Find the best Himachal summer special packages which suit your pocket as well as time.” button_text=”Explore Now” button_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fhimalyantrips.com|||” banner_image=”id^8633|url^http://blogs.himalyantrips.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Untitled-design.png|caption^null|alt^null|title^Untitled design|description^null” button_color=”#dd9933″ button_text_color=”#ffffff”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
