Kufri
Shimla is beautiful, but its surroundings are no less enchanting! Kufri is another quaint hill-station just 20 km from Shimla that catches my fancy. I’d recommend visiting this year-round. No matter when you go, Kufri will embrace you with open arms. Summer is quite pleasant in Kufri and winter there experiences heavy snowfall, so this place makes a perfect for a perfect getaway from Delhi with just an overnight drive away!
Skiing and tobogganing along with the vast network of trekking trails make some of the most popular things to do in Kufri. Walk through cedar woods up to the Mahasu Peak, ride a horse, plan a visit to the Himalayan Nature Park, or Indira Tourist Park or take a short trip to Fagu just 6 km from Kufri, there’s a lot do in the midst of the verdant Himalayas in Kufri region.
The best time to visit Kufri is from March to June when India is dealing with extreme cold. In that duration, Kufri makes such a comforting getaway for everyone. Located in the vast expanse of mountain land, there are a few incredible campsites in Kufri that make an excellent option for everyone planning to experience the outdoor life in the Greater Himalayan region. Speak of temples, monasteries, cultural sites, and nature parks and Kufri won’t disappoint you.
Among the most popular places to visit in Kufri Jakhu Temple, Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex, The Glen, Tara Devi Temple, Kali Bari, and Scandal Point are some of the most popular. Lakkar Bazaar is the place to explore if you are keen on handicraft and antiques from the mountains.
